Free Event!WCT is proud to be participating in the semi-annual Ossining-Briarcliff Make Music Day. We will be hosting local flamenco guitar artist Ed Horan at our black box theater from 7-8pm. This is a free event which is part of a musical tour of throughout the village of Ossining and Briarcliff.
About Make Music Day: Over three decades ago in France, an amazing holiday was born. Fete de la Musique was created to celebrate music. Music was to be played all over the city of Paris, outdoors at no charge. Today, Fete de la Musique, now also known as Make Music Day, is celebrated in over 700 towns, villages, and cities worldwide. Ossining and Briarcliff have joined the musical community and are now part of the fun. Beginning in 2015, Mike Risko Music began coordinating Make Music Ossining-Briarcliff. Ossining and Briarcliff are the first communities in Westchester County to be a part of the Make Music celebration. We are also among just a few small towns/villages since many celebrations take place in large cities like New York. The yearly event always takes place on June 21 which is the Summer Solstice, or the longest day of the year. It features live music all around the community. These pop up mini concerts of different genres with many different artists, offer the community free live music on a beautiful summer day. It is also a great opportunity to tour the community. Because we believe that music should be celebrated all year, Ossining-Briarcliff also does a smaller celebration of music on the Winter Solstice, December 21-the shortest day of the year. |
