Comedy In The Box

Comedy Night
Fri., June 13th
@ 8 PM
Our next Comedy Nights features three NYC-based stand-up comedians known nationwide through their many TV and film appearances.
Making a special return appearance and headlining an outstanding evening will be veteran comic Leighann Lord. Leighann is a seasoned, NYC-based stand-up comedian who has been seen on Comedy Central, HBO, The View, and in the Netflix Def Comedy Jam 25th Anniversary Special. She’s performed for the troops in the Middle East, in all 50 states, 20 countries, six continents, and Guam.
Leighann was named one of the 35 Most Hilarious Comedians of Diversity, was a national finalist in the American Black Film Festival-HBO Comedy Wings Competition, and received the NYC Comedy Award for the Most Thought-Provoking Black Female Comic. Leighann can be seen in Showtime’s Even More Funny Women of a Certain Age and her Dry Bar Comedy special, I Mean Business, has had over one million views.
The featured comic will be Joe Conte. Joe is a stand-up comedian known for his sharp wit and humorous insights into everyday life. He co-hosts popular podcasts like “The Conte and Kenny Show” and “The Honeymooners Podcast” where he discusses comedy, entertainment and current events with a comedic twist. Joe’s comedy often blends observational humor with personal anecdotes, making him a favorite among fans of comedic storytelling, and an irresistibly charismatic comedian.
Jim Mendrinos, the host for the evening, is returning from a successful WCT show last August. A staple of the NYC comedy scene, he has worked for David Letterman, The Tonight Show, The Chevy Chase Show, Head of the Class, and SNL. Mendrinos has performed on Comedy Central, Current TV, SiTV, HBO and the BBC and has an hour-long special, Not Dead Yet, on Amazon Video Direct. Chris Rock said of a Mendrinos program, “Living in Exile just might be the best funniest show I've ever seen." Author, by request, of The Complete Idiot’s Guide to Comedy Writing (Alpha Press, © 2004), Mendrinos teaches TV Writing for Gotham Writers Workshop.
