Docent-led tours took audience members through a gallery of artwork created by members of the Ossining Arts Council. When the tour, which ran approximately 90 minutes, reached an artwork that inspired a WCT playwright, a short play based on that piece was performed. This event was an expansion of the hugely successful productions held in 2016, 2014 & 2013 and was held over 4 consecutive weekends.
As part of this event, 25 artworks by local Ossining artists, members of the Ossining Arts Council, were featured in the gallery tour. Six original short plays inspired by selected artworks were performed by an ensemble of WCT actors. |
The Ossining Arts Council is a 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization whose mission is to promote and showcase the talent of all artists, whether professional or amateur, to unite diverse talent across other arts-based organizations through collaborative programs, and to build awareness and inspire passion for the arts within our community.

Westchester Collaborative Theater (WCT) is a 501 (C)3 multicultural, cooperative theater company located in Ossining, N.Y., solely dedicated to the development of new plays by its member playwrights, actors and directors.

Friends By Choice written & directed by Howard Lipson After over half a century, two sisters finally reveal an event that could have changed their lives together. The Image of Women written by Evelyn Mertens, directed by Jennifer Siciliano A woman wrestles with her inner conflicts over the loss of the slender figure she has treasured for all of her life as her pregnancy begins to make its transformation. |
Mr. Green
written by Angelo Parra, directed by Howard Lipson In a doctor’s office waiting room, a lonely, aged African-American, hoping for a life-saving kidney, waxes pensive and nostalgic to a fellow patient, revealing his unyielding will to carry on. The Loud Hours written & directed by Pat O'Neill The past hangs heavily during the loud hours of the night, as a father and daughter struggle to let go. Clam Diggers and Mussel Suckers written & directed by Jane Ann Valentine College students on a date share an unexpectedly tender moment while watching the sunrise over the water at City Island. |
The Ensemble of actors includes: Enid Breis, Keith Bulluck, Jeff Callan, Michelle Daneshvar, Anne Glickman, Tom Lloyd, Sandy Rooney, Roberta G. Robinson, & Dan Slavin.
