Improv Class with Michael Short
For Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced Actors

- Have fun and learn enjoyable improv techniques at a new class held live at WCT. From day one this class will teach you the fundamentals of scenic improv. This includes initiating scenes, exploring characters and relationships, and establishing an environment. Students will put all these tools together to create a single full-length improvised performance piece. See how empowering improv can be when we make bold choices and trust our instincts. All students will receive individual, personalized feedback.
Teacher Michael Short has been performing improv for over 20 years. He has trained with famed improv theaters The Second City, Magnet, UCB, and Annoyance. Michael performed for Second City as part of their Norwegian Cruise Line sketch and improv shows. He believes in giving students the confidence to improvise from a place of strength by finding the tactics and techniques that work best for them.
Classes run live 8 Wednesdays May 11,18,25; June 8,15,22,29; July 6 from 8:15-10:15 at Westchester Collaborative Theater. This class will culminate in a student showcase at WCT on Sunday, July 10.
