Allyson has delved into bop and blues, Great American standards, and written her own songs. Her highly regarded 2001 album Ballads: Remembering John Coltrane was a rendering of his songs. Wild for You, is a 2004 collection of singer-songwriter pop tunes by the likes of Joni Mitchell, Yusuf Islam (Cat Stevens), Carole King, and Carly Simon. On 2015’s Many a New Day, Allyson paid tribute to Rodgers and Hammerstein in the company of pianist Kenny Barron. More recently, she was the star of the 2019 concept recording, Shoulder to Shoulder. The New York Times called Allyson “a singer with a feline touch and impeccable intonation

‍Allyson sings songs drawn from various genres in English, French, Portuguese, Italian, and Spanish. She has recorded vocal performances of instrumental jazz compositions using scat and vocalese techniques and 12 original studio albums for the Concord Jazz label. She released a career-spanning "best of" collection in 2009. Her first all-original record, Some of That Sunshine, met with rave reviews in 2018. Jazz Times wrote that "Allyson unleashes her equally impressive dexterity as a songwriter."

‍Her relationship with Brazilian music is seen on early albums with such classics as “Corcovado” and “One Note Samba.” In 2008 she released Imagina: Songs of Brazil; 2024’s A Kiss forBrazil  featured the great Bahian singer-guitarist Rosa Passos.

Versace is often featured in bands led by musicians such as John Scofield, John Abercrombie, Maria Schneider, Al Foster, Kurt Elling, Kurt Elling, Anat Cohen, Madeleine Peyroux, Matt Wilson, and Ingrid Jensen. He appeared on Marian McPartland's acclaimed NPR show Piano Jazz. McPartland has described him as'...endlessly inventive...(Versace) really has an extraordinary talent.'

Jaffe has performed with artists such as Wynton Marsalis, Samara Joy, Marcus Roberts, Catherine Russell, George Coleman, Sullivan Fortner, Peter Cincotti, and Laura Anglade. He tours throughout the US and globally.
