A space for new plays and local artists
The Westchester Collaborative Theater Black Box space, located at 23 Water Street in Ossining, NY, is a theater company dedicated to nurturing new work for the stage. Member playwrights, actors, and directors participate in a Lab process where, several times a month, new plays are read and critiqued.
Guest artists who have participated in these ongoing labs include such notable theater professionals as John Pielmeier, B.T. McNicholl, Mark St. Germain, Campbell Scott and Mart Crowley.
WCT currently presents two mainstage productions and several play readings annually. Material for these productions is developed through our Lab process featuring member actors and production teams.
We are committed to furthering theater arts in our community. To that end, we are involved in programs developing youth theater and outreach to local senior residences and arts organizations.
WCT is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit corporation and is a proud recipient of production grants from ArtsWestchester and New York State Council on the Arts.
We currently have over 160 playwright, actor, and director members from the Tri-state area who take part in our activities.

We have an audition process if you’d like to be an actor. If you’re a playwright, we ask to send in a sample of your writing. If you want to be a director or help with the theater, you can be a member as well! Just email us at: info@wctheater.net.

Yes! Westchester Collaborative Theater produces original plays of its playwrights. It goes through stages and it all begins on our Thursday night Labs!

Once you’ve been accepted, you have an opportunity to be a part of our production during the year. We highly encourage our members to expand beyond your title. If you always wanted to try directing, we encourage you to let us know and you will have that opportunity!
Member Benefits
Playwrights- Opportunity to get your work, developed and fully produced with the artistic and financial support of WCT.
Actors- Have priority casting for parts at Labs, readings and productions and have ongoing opportunities to exercise your acting skills. Also exclusive notices about Company sponsored acting workshops and professional area acting opportunities.
Directors- Collaborate with playwrights and talented members of WCT's production team to shape the development of a new plays.
Members are the first to know when tickets go on sale for WCT productions and have the opportunity of purchasing them for a discount rate before they go on sale to the general public.
Members receive discounted tuition fees to all classes held at the theater.
