May 13- July 15 (8 Classes)
Whether you’re new to improv or looking to sharpen your skills, this class series welcomes you where you are. Through long-form improv games and exercises, students develop active listening and agreement, build trust with scene partners, play authentically and intelligently within reality, and grow confidence on stage. The course includes a class performance, where students can invite friends and family to watch their progress, and will be part of an evening of long-form improv featuring professional improv groups from NYC, Westchester & Hudson Valley.
Tamra Malaga has performed and taught long-form improv nationally for 27 years. She trained at William Esper Studios (NYC), and Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre (NYC), with mentors Amy Poehler, Matt Walsh, and Ian Roberts, as well as Second City (LA/CHI) and Improv Olympic (CHI). She is one half of the comedy duo The Josh and Tamra Show, which has headlined festivals across the U.S. and Canada, performing on TV and in film, and is currently wrapping its third season airing on Westchester TV, Manhattan MNN, and online. The duo also created a “Best Comedy”, winning sitcom pilot, at the New York Television Festival, which was featured on Variety.com. https://linktr.ee/thejoshandtamrashow
