On Saturday, June 3rd, WCT’s new black box performing space showcased a concert by internationally known, Grammy-nominated acoustic band Sundad.
Says WCT Executive Director Alan Lutwin, “We look forward to presenting these amazing artists and having their musicianship complement WCT’s theater productions, both our mainstage performances and ongoing series of readings. We want the black box venue to offer our audiences the highest caliber of performing artists in the lower Hudson Valley.” The concert followed WCT’s successful run of Albi Gorn’s play, Lot’s Wife in March and an SRO benefit concert by Ossining blues and jazz legend KJ Denhert in April, both at the black box. |
Sundad, a Grammy- and New Age Reporter-nominated band whose music has a worldwide following, features father and son guitarists John Eurell Sr. and John Jr., joined by bassist Kendall Buchanan and drummer Abe Speller. The group’s original repertoire consists of acoustic guitar instrumentals that have been described as a blend of “World Fusion and New Age” music. Sundad’s first CD, Journey to Eternity, hit the New Age radio spin charts at #3 and remained in the Top 50 for six consecutive months nationwide and globally. The next CD, The Journey Continues, fared even better ending up at #13 for the year.
