On Saturday, July 6, Westchester Collaborative Theater (WCT) continues its Jazz Masters music series with the Marshall McDonald Jazz Project,
McDonald, a veteran of the New York jazz scene, and his band will be appearing for two sets at 7:30 and 9 pm. Joining Marshall will be James Weidman on piano, Nori Naraoka on bass And George Coleman Jr. on drums.
If you like The Count Basie Orchestra, you can hear that same joy and dance in the music of Marshall McDonald, having played lead alto in the swingin’ big band for almost 20 years, playing venues such as Carnegie Hall with Nancy Wilson, The Tokyo Blue Note with Dee Dee Bridgewater, The Nice Jazz Festival, The Monterey Jazz Festival, and the Sydney Opera House in Australia. Playing Lead alto in the
Basie Band was the thrill of a lifetime, and he keeps the thrill going in his small group bands.
